Caroline Callaway, Owner, Principal

Since beginning her career in public relations, Caroline Callaway has worked with clients in industries ranging from technology, travel, fashion, hospitality and sports to financial, municipal, marketing and community service. Staying true to the meaning of public relations, Caroline’s passion lies in working with people and building a brand for her clients through established media relationships and great story ideas that turn into feature articles.

Caroline’s efforts have secured clients placements on the front cover of high-tech magazines, on the six o’clock evening news, in the business section of the local newspaper, and in feature articles in national trade magazines. Caroline has received awards for her writings in trade publications and she earned Six Sigma certification during her time with Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems. Most recently, Caroline was named a finalist for the San Diego Business Journal’s 2008 Women Who Mean Business Awards. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in public and interpersonal communications.

Monica Kenney, Account Executive

Networking and forming close relationships with colleagues is not a new concept for Monica. Through her vast media relations experience and event planning expertise, Monica has proven herself an asset to the Bolt PR team. As the account executive for Bolt PR, Monica manages and supports accounts in the areas of proactive media outreach, press release and article writing and editing, marketing communications, and event planning and execution. With a “hands on mentality” in everything she does, Monica’s sharp attention to detail ensures that clients’ publicity goals are met to the fullest extent.

While obtaining her degree in Communication Studies – Public Relations from Iowa State University, Monica worked with many local organizations to plan, market and execute major events. She was heavily involved with Sigma Kappa Sorority where she held many executive positions and eventually went on to serve as president. Monica also served as vice president of the Student Alumni Leadership Council – CAC, and worked with the Athletic Department to help increase student/alumni involvement and attendance at sporting events.

Anne Carr, Account Coordinator

No stranger to public relations or the advertising industry, Anne naturally views life through a creative lens and problem-solving mindset.  Though the newest member to the Bolt PR team, Anne has already secured feature articles for clients in local newspapers and national trade publications. Supporting clients in the biotechnology, fashion, business, advertising and technology industries, Anne enjoys using her creativity and sharp communication skills to tell a client’s story to the world.

While obtaining a B.A. in Creative Writing and a minor in Communications at the University of Arizona, she was able to advance her writing skills and indulge in classroom discussions about Austin, Hemingway, Thackeray and Shakespeare.  Anne embraced college life through her involvement with Sigma Kappa Sorority, Campus Crusade for Christ, Greek Venture, and student government.

Her passion for stories escalated outside of the university setting by crafting press releases, communicating with the media, and brainstorming creative concepts during her time at a boutique advertising agency in Tucson, AZ.  Additionally, Anne’s event-planning, sales, and promotional experience equip her to realize the full potential of each client.

Carrie McDaniel, Account Representative

Carrie McDaniel comes from a diverse background where establishing authentic client relations is the stem of her success.  Her natural drive to build rapport with clients and devote 110% of her energy to their visions and goals, translates to successful media relationships and the ability to create a buzz.  As assistant account coordinator at Bolt PR, Carrie is responsible for managing and supporting accounts, communicating with the media, and developing front page feature-worthy stories.  

 

Carrie graduated from San Francisco State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communications. Upon relocating to San Diego, Carrie pursued her passion and experience for the health and wellness industry by earning certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), along with the National Association of Sports Nutrition (NASN), and utilized her expanded skill set to plan and execute the first Ultra Fit Nutrition, a women’s weight loss program, generating new revenue streams for Frogs Fitness in Encinitas.  

Carrie’s skills are not only apparent in her work, but in her community involvement as well. For 10 years, Carrie has been committed to Young Life, a non- profit high school outreach organization, where she currently coordinates a variety of social interactions, formal and informal events, mentorship seminars and group trips in the San Francisco, San Diego and Seattle areas.
